My Thoughts about ISIS

I don’t support ISIS!

To be honest, first time when I heard about ISIS (in 2014), I was really glad to know about their concept to unite Ummah in this world with “Khilafah.”

 
“Khilafah” isn’t the new word for me. It’s the best concept to build strong Ummah and apply syari’ah (Islamic law) well. And as Moslem, we’ve known well about Khilafah Islamiyah. We must be proud, because we have many… many amazing leaders besides Rasulullah such as Caliph Umar bin Khattab, and Caliph Umar bin Abdul Aziz. That was why I’ve missed Khilafah.

 
Talking about ISIS, I didn’t need long time to know ISIS, and I’ve decided to not support it.
Killing, violence and forcing others to convert to Islam aren’t Islamic concept. It’s so far from Islam.
Here’re a few meanings of Islam base on Qur’an:
1. Istaslama-taslim-mustaslimun= submission to the Lord (Allah) [Annisaa: 65]
2. Salm = peace [Al-Anfal: 61]
3. Salaam= peace [Az-Zumar: 73]

 

In Islam we always say to our brothers and sister the word “Assalamu’alaikum” it means “Peace be upon you.”

I only saw their actions so far then compared them with Islam, so here’re my thoughts about ISIS, maybe it’d be different with others.

1. ISIS isn’t Islamic state, anyhow they claimed it as Islamic State in Iraq and Syiria.
2. ISIS doesn’t help Islam, and doesn’t apply Islamic laws.
3. ISIS has made bad image about Khilafah, Islam and Moslems.
4. ISIS has done many terrors in some countries.

The last, I will say,

“I still miss Khilafah, but I will never support ISIS!”

  1. Yes they cannot fool the muslims by using islamic dress up and Quranic verses, they are misusing Islam and bringing a bad name to the rest of muslims. I think every muslim should stand up and say ISIS is not part of us and stop maligning Islam for your evil intentions.

  2. What about the murder of gays, apostates, blasphemers, adulterers, the jizya, the enslavement of women? Nothing to do with Islam? Islam can be reformed, but it takes a bit of courage to admit that there are issues within the religion, along with the positive parts.

      2. Thanks sister Papatia and Eva, off course the site is accessible for global audiences and people should review it as a way to get better informed about various issues in light of ISLAM.

Muslims have great courage to voice all sorts of issues within Muslim communities, we certainly do not need western world to save us and I must just point out that Eva is in Indonesia, predominantly Muslim country and she is openly writing on denouncing ISIS menace as other writers have done so in other geographical settings.
      Eva keep up the great work and write more on these issues in light of current events from Indonesian perspective.
      Unfortunately, west/ and westerners have a tendency to be very selective, they only hear what they want to hear and dismiss the rest.         2. Thank you and thank you sister Eva, as a human being I feel very strongly on human rights problems and you both know of my passionate mission.
          I only did this thinking very positively that we all can engage into a constructive discussion with Mr. freedomfighter1995.

          Also I must admit that I am protective of my sisters and will off course extend my support from far away and I know that if need arises, I can count on you girls for the same.

  4. Here I remember a very beautiful Hadees.
    ‘Amir b. Sa’d reported on the authority of his father that one day Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) came from a high, land. He passed by the mosque of Banu Mu’awiya, went in and observed two rak’ahs there and we also observed prayer along with him and he made a long supplication to his Lord. He then came to us and said,”I asked my Lord three things and He has granted me two but has withheld one. I begged my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed because of famine and He granted me this. And I begged my Lord that my Ummah should not be destroyed by drowning (by deluge) and He granted me this. And I begged my Lord that there should be no bloodshed among the people of my Ummah, but He did not grant it.”
    [Sahih Muslim Book 41, Hadith 6906]

    Also another Hadees is there,

    Thauban reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:Allah drew the ends of the world near one another for my sake. And I have seen its eastern and western ends. And the dominion of my Ummah would reach those ends which have been drawn near me and I have been granted the red and the white treasure and I begged my Lord for my Ummah that it should not be destroyed because of famine, nor be dominated by an enemy who is not amongst them to take their lives and destroy them root and branch, and my Lord said: Muhammad, whenever I make a decision, there is none to change it. I grant you for your Ummah that it would not be destroyed by famine and it would not be dominated by an enemy who would not be amongst it and would take their lives and destroy them root and branch even if all the people from the different parts of the world join hands together (for this purpose), but it would be from amongst them, viz. your Ummah, that some people would kill the others or imprison the others.
    [Sahih Muslim Book 41, Hadith 6904]

    So this Ummah Will Destroy One Another.Isn’tthat happening in all Muslim countries? Muslims fighting Muslims.
