السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
بارك الله فيكم
I share this post for Muslims because it talks about Muslim who ignores the Islam precept.
I only rewrite the characteristics of this Muslim base on surah Al-Ma’un. It’s very beautiful reminder from Allah for us. Indeed!
Allah has explained clearly about Muslim who does not practice Islam well and called him as “The one who denies the recompense.” Na’udzubillah summa na’udzubillah min dzaalik.
Here are his characteristics:
1. Muslim who drives away the orphan.
As we have known, Allah has commanded us to safe the orphan. Rasulullah was on Orphan, and he had ever said in his hadits,
[Sahl ibn Sa’ad reported: The Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate] Source: Sahih Bukhori 5659.
We will find too in other verses those talk about Orphan, such as in surah Adh-Dhuha verse:9, “So as for the orphan, do not oppress (him).”
2. Muslim who does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
Islam also orders us to help the poor and be kind to them. Still in surah adh-duha, Allah said, “And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him].” Adh-dhuha: 10.
Helping the poor it doesn’t mean giving them some money always. There are other ways to help them by giving job and chance to change their lives.
Rasulullah, his sahabas and the great Muslims always help the poor.
3. Muslim who prays but he is headless of his prayer.
Here, I won’t give example from other. I’ll tell about myself. I admit, sometimes I ignore the prayer calling (adzan). When I hear it, sometimes I prefer finishing my work to pray. It’s my lack in practicing Islam. Alhamdulillah, my son usually pray on time especially dzuhur and always reminds the adult in our house to pray directly after adzan. “The Time is for prayer! The time is for prayer!”
When I followed the meeting (during at school 2007-2012), I chose to finish the meeting than prayer. Astaghfirullah!
Am I a good Muslima then, if I always ignore Allah’s orders?
Allah will ask about our prayer first than other deeds. If our prayer good so are the other deeds.
4. Muslim who makes show [of his deed]/ Riya
What’s Riya?
Allah has explained about it in many surah and verses;
“O you who have believed, do not invalidate your charities with reminders or injury as does one who spends his wealth [only] to be seen by the people and does not believe in Allah and the Last Day. His example is like that of a [large] smooth stone upon which is dust and is hit by a downpour that leaves it bare. They are unable [to keep] anything of what they have earned. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.” Al-Baqoroh:264
Please see, surah An-Nisaa:38 and surah Ali-Imran:188.
5. Muslim who does not want to give any assistance to other
We can’t count how many times Allah orders us to help each other not only to other Muslims but to the humankind, even to the animals.
What a beautiful precept!
“……………And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.” Al-Maidah:5
In Islam, we all are brothers and sisters, masha’Allah. We are like a building. If one of our brothers or sisters feels hurt, so we feel the same. Allah! Allah!
May Allah grant us good manner and good intention to help other for Allah alone, not for getting Paradise, lillahi ta’ala.
I hope I can follow the manner of Rasulullah, “helping someone who has acted badly to him even to someone who wanted kill him. Rasulullah always help all the people.”
I have met some Muslims who would help others by some conditions.
(I don’t talk about job here, because in working we have some conditions. We work and we get paid for it. It’s different! We sell something and we get money for that.)
I ask to myself, “Am I like these people?”
“O Allah, help me, my family and all Muslims in this world to follow Your commands well, only for You! Ameen!”
We worship Allah and obey His rules is not for getting Paradise, but for getting His pleasure.
Paradise and hell are as His reply for our good/bad deeds.
As salamu alai Kum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh sister. I myself feel guilty of these sins at various point of my life. May Allah سبحان و تعمل forgive us and guide us! Ameen

This makes me happy to read this comment of yours sister. You made me realize that I tend to think that helping others is in difficult things while it could be as simple as smiling and I do this many time with my son hahaha 😀

Indeed, sister! we can help others by our minds, our power, and our wealth. If you think about big help, that’s very good, it meant you have sweetheart and beautiful faith. Hey, sister! I need your help! 😀 (just a joke!)
