QUR’AN’S VIEW ABOUT PROPHET ISA ‘ALAIHI SALAM

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As moslems, we strongly believe that Prophet Isa ‘Alaihi Salam is a messenger of Allah, such as Prophet Muhammad SAW and the other prophets before them. Prophet Isa is not Allah’s son.

Allah has explained about it specially in the verses below.

Let’s open our hearths to receive this truth.

Surah An-nisaa 156-159.

And [we cursed them] for their disbelief and their saying against Mary a great slander. [156]  And [for] their saying, “Indeed we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them.  And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.[157] Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah exalted in might and Wise.[158]  And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jews before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness. [159]

Surah An-Nisaa 171-172.

O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jessus, The Son of Mary was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul (created at a command) from Him. So believe in Allah and His messenger and do not say “Three;” desist- it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs .[171]

Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah, nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdain His worship and is arrogant. He will gather them to Himself all together. [172]

The Messiah is a messenger of Allah. May Allah always guides us to His right way and strengthen our faith. There is no deity except Allah.

لا اله الا  الله

  1. Is Qur’an Understandable?

But the important question which is often asked is whether the Qur’an is understandable by an ordinary reader, or it requires scholarly background to comprehend its meaning?

Has this book been introduced for the purpose of studying and understanding it, or whether it is just for reading and reciting and obtaining reward and blessing? The student of Qur’an, possibly, may wonder at raising of such a question. To him it may appear beyond doubt that the Qur’an is meant for the purpose of knowing and understanding it.

Nevertheless, in view of various undesirable currents, which due to numerous reasons came into existence in the Muslim world regarding the question of understanding of the Qur’an, and which had an important role in bringing about the decline of Muslims,
